This estate was inherited from my grandfather Leoncio, so we named the farm after him. It is located in Lourdes of Naranjo and it has belonged to the family for more than 80 years, going from generation to generation of the Barrantes family.
I have a wonderful family of 5, my wife, my three daughters and I. We all are very involved in the coffee activity because we depend on it. Coffee allows us to cover all the necessary expenses, such as food, education and others.
The variety of Leoncio's estate is Villa Sarchí and Kenia CL28. Our coffee is hand picked by Panamanian natives, who are specialists in picking 100% ripe coffee.
CAFETALERA HERBAZÚ was founded in 2000 – 2001, and has been ever since a pioneer for the coffee processing in Costa Rica . Four brothers are the founders of Herbazú and we process these coffees and the harvest of our other 4 brothers.
Our great strength is that we process the coffee of our own estates. This way we can overlook and take care of the whole process, from plant to mill, to obtain 100% quality coffee.
