In 2011, as LONG MILES COFFEE (LMC) founders, we saw that both injustice and poor farming practices were permeating Burundi’s newly privatized coffee industry. We also saw that roasters around the world were experiencing difficulty getting their hands on the great coffees being produced in Burundi. In an effort to see positive change in both farmers’ and roasters’ lives, LMC was born.

LMC micro-lots are fully traceable to the farmers surrounding our Bukeye, Heza, and Ninga Washing Stations. Our Burundian coffee is very personal to us and embodies elements of risk and forward-thinking, especially in relationships. These micro-lots are a combined effort that take into account the needs of Burundian coffee farmers and the needs of the roasters we work with worldwide. When you trust us with a coffee purchase not only do you get thoughtfully produced coffee; you directly impact the coffee farming communities of Burundi.

This LMC private collection auction features sixteen specialty coffees from twelve unique hills located in the Kayanza and Muramvya Provinces of Burundi. The processes available are Washed, Natural, Anaerobic Honey, and Anaerobic Natural. Each coffee is individually selected and will be offered for bid at the Long Miles Burundi Private Collection Auction.

By pinpointing exceptional producers with the Private Collection program, ACE will curate auctions with organizations and farmers who best exemplify ACE’s standards with its Cup of Excellence programming and hopes to expand its reach with these curated auctions.
