Finca los Yoyos is a beautiful coffee plantation, with an amazing view of Lake Yojoa. It is owned by Don Yoyo (a nick name for Eulogio). Yoyo is a humble and kind man who works hard with his whole family to produce the best coffee on the Sta. Bárbara Mountain. He started producing coffee more than 20 years ago, when he worked on a farm as a picker. During that time his salary provided him the opportunity to save a little money until he was able to buy his own property. Since that time he and his 8 sons and daughters have never stopped working and now he owns almost 4 manzanas. His wife, Maria de los Angeles has been by his side supporting him for the entire journey.
Don Yoyo wasn’t concious about the quality of his product when he began, so he sold his coffee as commercial grade until Beneficio San Vicente discovered the potential that it had and asked him to prepare it as specialty. Immediately he started making efforts and since 2011 he has become a “specialty coffee producer”.
Don Yoyo says: "It’s my first year participating in COE, I wasn’t expecting to be the winner, this the best thing that have ever happened to me. Thank GOD for this wonderful gift”
Finca Los Yoyos is managed and worked by the family, which has been continuously improving the coffee quality. Together they have built a small wet mill with a small depulper, raised beds to pre-dry the parchment and a dome type solar dryer, where they are able to complete the drying of their washed coffees.
As we can see, Finca Los Yoyos is not only one coffee producer, but it is a family unit making their living through the production of coffee. During the harvest season they also hire pickers and other laborers who live in the same community.
By this time we hope that you are in love with Don Yoyo and his family, who are looking forward to the auction. We invite to bid for this beautiful coffee on June 9th!
