Farm: El Aguacate
Farmer: Jovito Arnoldo Aguilar Muñoz
Finca el Aguacate has its beginnings by my grandfather Valeriano Aguilar Reyes and Maria Reynoso Rodriguez, since 40 years ago when in our lands coffee did not grown in abundance our ancient grandparents raised cattle, after the years passed, about five years later decided to grow coffee, El Aguacate farm began only with one block of caturra coffee. When I was 16 years old my parents inherited two blocks of land to cultivate that was roughly in 1,974 at the time money was tight it was not easy to get it.
Although at that time the farm’s name was not El Aguacate yet, the two blocks were planted with the variety caturra, common pache and Bourbón the two blocks were called the Tapesco, it was called so because in a year of harvest vast a plant goby and took the other then had to lift because it remains as a tapesco top of each other, in that year will succeed to 351 quintal of ripe coffee only in one block, after that I decided to prune two blocks, then I pruned two other blocks, there were planted the same varieties of coffee.
All the blocks were planted with shade of gravilea thereafter by inheritance to the estate was attached other several blocks called El Roblar, I was called because the shadow of coffee was a Roblar, El Aguacate farm is composed of various shapes and positions as part of it are dispersed that is not all of this together and geographically is a little broken terrain, land class is good black-soil-land. Moreover El Aguacate farm consists of three blocks, you can find a ravine that is called the Bejuquero, in this part was sowed Bourbón, caturra and pache varieties, the plants grew and now is an adult coffee plant.
