This coffee washing station was built by coffee farmers gathered in the cooperative Kazoza n’ikawa. It was created on the 8th January 2007 with initial capital of $US 2,000.00. This cooperative is of 486 members with 113 women. The cooperative started to build the coffee washing station in 2011 with these objectives:
- Master the value chain from the production to the export of green beans.
- Increase revenues of the members of cooperatives
- reducing the long distances for farmers of the area
- Increase production and quality was also an opportunity for coffee farmers of the area to bring their cherries closer to them preventing long distances to arrive to other coffee washing stations.
The cooperative has as perspectives:
- Initiate cupping at Coffee washing station to distinguish good quality coffee from bad and coffee consumption for its members
- Increase cooperative members up to 1500 in 2015
