Overview
Tambor farm is located on the Central Valley Coffee region, at the Alajuela province, on the Tambor district, for this his name.
It has 16.3 hectares of land, and all of them are dedicated to the coffee production of different varieties, following our strict policies of sustainability. This farm was bought in the year 2003 and was maintained by a subsidiary company of the Volcafe Group that was dedicated to this all around the country. This company was sold in 2006 and Volcafe kept the farm TAMBOR as a model farm since the coffee production follows friendly environmental and agricultural sustainable procedures.
Every year this farm delivers great quality coffee and in the year 2011 we decided to participate, for the first time, at the Cup of Excellence program. The milling process: mechanical desmulcinage, then it goes through a control natural fermentation process and then 100% sun dried on our patios. Our lot from FINCA TAMBOR was given seventh place on this years Cup of Excellence giving us, VOLCAFE, the satisfaction of a job well done and giving a lot of pride to the Tambor community.
