We baptized this farm La Plaza because in the highest and flat area of the farm, there is a soccer field, which in Costa Rica is called a “Plaza de futbol”
After two years of starting with the micro mill, we had the opportunity to acquire this property located very close to our milling plant. We took the risk and ventured of planting coffee, being well accepted by our customers in their first cuppings.
La Plaza is located in Santa Rosa de León Cortés. The height ranges from 1890 to 2050 m.a.s.l. It has several varieties as Catuaí, Caturra and Villa Sarchí. All of them well separated and well-treated in order to obtain our gold bean. This year we decided to plant Bourbón in one unoccupied area, because we have realized that this variety performs very well both climatologically and in the cup.
This is our second year participating in CoE, a project that has taught us a lot and has left some new friends and new experiences. We have achieved the goal of reaching international cuppings and now we feel very happy to be in the electronic auction.
