2019 Sumatra Prestige Cup Results

Adhering to ACE’s mission of rewarding exemplary coffee farmers, ACE held a regional pilot in the town of Takengon. In partnership with the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia and the local Government of Aceh Tenga, ACE received over 40 farmer identified lots for pre-selection. During International Week, a jury comprised of coffee professionals from China, Australia, Sumatra, Colombia, The Netherlands, Australia, The United States, Singapore and South Korea, spent the week examining the submitted lots. At the end of the week the final lots were auctioned off in an open outcry auction in Takengon. Here are the results of the competition:

In 2020, it is hoped that SCAI and ACE will bring a full Cup of Excellence program to the vast and complex coffee growing country that is Indonesia. Due to the vastness of crop harvests, multi-island regional production and an array of processes and varieties, Indonesia promises to be a challenging and yet, extremely promising new country to bring into the Cup of Excellence portfolio.
