Brief History
Mayogi cooperative was formed in 2010 by a group of 108 farmers. Due to low knowledge in coffee processing, the cooperative rented the processing unit to the private owners, In 2012 Mayogi was among the winners of cup of excellence. In 2017, the cooperative started to work with NGO Sustainable Harvest and since then, the farmers regained the processing unit and now, with the support of the Sustainable Harvest project they are managing their coffee washing station.
The CWS works with sustainable harvest to train famers in good agricultural practices and link the with Bank services. Currently the cooperative has grown and made of 267 with 172 being women and it is able to pay the loan effectively.
With increase in the coffee knowledge, the cooperative won the cup of excellence 2018 as the second in the Ranking.
In the future, the cooperative plan to extend the washing station and double its production
