Don Guadalupe Rodriguez is the pioneering producer of coffee in the village Pozo Negro, Masaguara, Intibucá with a lifetime devoted to agricultural production Don Guadalupe had almost lost hope of improving their living conditions with little income that generated this activity, his entire family, including adult children with their families depend entirely on agricultural production.
Coffee is now the main activity of his family, everyone involved in the production and processing thereof, the harvest is done by family and if necessary hire local staff when the harvest is promising.
On his farm El Liquidambar, Don Guadalupe produces the variety Catuai, for the great height does not have much shade, however the same height protects his estate of pests and diseases such as rust and borer beetle both attack other producers regions.
Don Guadalupe with great sacrifice could build a small milling station, a yard for pre-drying and a solar dryer that allows him to dry his coffee at home that is 1,740 meters above sea level.
When Don Guadalupe knew he won eighth place in COE could not believe it because it was the first time participating in this event. He has faith in God that this will be the beginning of a path of success for his family and his community.
