La Quebrada is a farm on an incredibly steep slope in El Cedral – Sta. Bárbara. It is hard to imagine how anyone is able to pick coffee there, the owner said that during the harvest season no men are willing to work there, so he just hires women – Can you imagine?
Dolmin Moreno is part of the 3rd generation of coffee farmers in his family. He grew up into the coffee world. Like many of his relatives, Dolmin went to the USA to work and save money to buy his own piece of land in this prestigious zone of the Sta. Barbara Mountain. Five years ago he came back to Honduras and finally became a landowner. He processes the coffee in a collectively owned milling station that he has shared with his father, grandfather, uncles and cousins for the past 5 years.
His father is Miguel Moreno, a famous coffee farmer in El Cedral who has been participating in COE for many years. Like Miguel – his mentor – Dolmin is very focused on producing quality coffee.
2015 is his first time participating in COE and is super excited to be in the auction.
