Before cultivating coffee, the land was used for corn plantations. But in 1985 after begin with the coffee cultivation with no chemicals and the differences of growth and harvesting; it became difficult to cultivate the corn and the coffee at the same time. At the beginning the first coffee harvest was no bigger than 150 kilos of cherry coffee. The other growers laugh at me saying that I had no a proper land for coffee and that, if I was thinking of stealing coffee for having access to government grants. This humiliation made me to set the goal of harvesting 50 quintales. I know that is difficult, but not impossible and I am about to make it. Because since that day I dedicated my life in cultivate and manage my coffee plantation.
I’m happy of having sent the coffee sample to the contest, but when we received the announcement that we passed to the following round I was in shock, happy but in shock. We have never participated in a quality contest and didn’t really realize how far we can go. For us this is just the beginning we will struggle to reach the first places always.
