In 1953 María Figueroa de Argueta received these lands from the municipality of Chiantla. During that year, some plants of Typical, Bourbn and maragogipe were plants and this started the cultivation of coffee. Later in 1977 she inherited to his son Erwin Modesto Figueroa who planted 11.56 manzanas of coffee with other varieties like caturra, Pache verde and Pache rojo. In the year 2005, after the creation of the municipality of Union Cantinil, this farm becomes property of the town La Esperanza.
Nowadays the farm is administered by the third generation of the family, Erwin Humberto Argueta Herrera who has furthered the cultivation of coffee thinking of quality. Thus, the productive processes of the farm are changing together with the education of farm personnel, striving to technify and improve productivity with the compromise of being environmentally friendly.
