Located in Mahembe sector, Nyamasheke district in the western province of Rwanda, Murundo is owned by Teuscher Invest ltd, a Swiss owned Company based in Rwanda with vision of investing in coffee farming and processing for high coffee quality. It process cherries from 78 984 trees planted in the year 2012 and 2013 in three zone which are Kamajumba with 9 ha, Nyaruzina 16 ha and Jarama 18 ha. In addition, Murundo CWs buy cherries from surrounding producers and process them. The quality and the flavour of Murundo CWS is a combined efforts of the suitable agro-ecological conditions and the best practices applied in our plantations and by farmers who supplies the CWS with cherries.
The Quality of our coffee
The quality of our coffee come not only from the nature of Arabica coffee. The coffee cherries are firstly shaken into water, large cherries are separated from small and defected ones. It then pass through a wet processing which use water for moving and making the extraction of coffee beans. Beans are carefully hand sorted out by attentive Rwandan women to remain with high quality beans that are slowly sun dried to get the high quality parchment!
