History of the farm:
Sítio Vista Alegre is part of a familial society, among a mother and four children, in which extremely high-quality coffee is grown, winning several contests. The property is located in the Serra da Mantiqueira Indication of Source region, in the south of Minas Gerais, has fertile fields and forest reserves, carefully concerning itself with preserving springs and forests, thus guaranteeing the abundance of water and vast wildlife. In addition to coffee growing, Mangalarga Marchador horses are also raised on the property.
Coffee processing system:
Due to the topography and to guarantee quality, the harvest is selective and done by hand over cloths, in order to avoid the fruits touching the ground. Next, the beans are taken to the processing area to be washed and then the go to the mechanical dryer. The beans, upon reaching the ideal humidity percentage, are stored in covered wooden rest boxes, where they rest for a period of 30 days. After the rest period, the lots are processed, bagged and stocked in the Cocarive cooperative, in Carmo de Minas, for commercialization.
Concern about quality :
As a philosophy, the properties cherish socio-environmental responsibility and personal dedication in the search for excellent production. As a result, the coffees have already been exported to several countries.
