Farm Las Carmelitas is located in the north central region of the Republic of Nicaragua in the department of Jinotega coffee production increased in the Mountains of the hill Nebliselva Datanli the Diablo Natural reserve,being a property that contributes to sustainable agriculture with stamps committed to conservation of natural resources.His single biggest item is the coffee under the shade of different varieties of specialty coffee,being selected and winning a lot of places in the prestigious competition of the Cup of Excellence, also all the coffee produced has high quality and world recognition as Nicaragua coffee!
Tell us The Farm History:
Farm Las Carmelitas is a Family Farm with 25 years of experience in the field of specialty coffee, its location within the Reserve Natural Cerro Datanli the Diablo is a property oriented sustainable agriculture. The farm has more than 40% of the total conservation area and this inhabits different wildlife resources of ecological importance to tropical forests in the region,also is the largest producer of water that feeds the only lake that provides clean energy in the country.
The farm has programs to support basic and higher education with total and partial to the children of employees scholarships, all employees have access to high quality health,the farm has 50 apples of different varieties of coffee such as: Caturra, Maracatu, Catimor, Hybrids and Javas, being the last batch chosen as the winner of one of the most important places in the competition for the Cup of Excellence 2014. This year the farm has an average production of 35 quintals gold for apple of land thanks to proper agronomic management, integrating scientific research and contributing to the coffee growing in Nicaragua being a model farm with strategic relationships with universities, state institutions and private companies engaged in cultivation of coffee, so it has become an attractive destination for tourism and scientific exchange of experience as our mission to provide and strengthen the coffee sector in Nicaragua .
Family Generations:
The Farm was driven to early 90 marriage Dávila Téllez procreated 3 Children, which the estate allowed the academic preparation of these later became the successor generation or generational change of the business, making it a family business vertical integration has to add value to coffee Farm Carmelite, currently all family members with their families working in the coffee business being always supervised and instructed by marriage with much effort, love, devotion and courage have faced and transmitted different continuity to develop appropriate values the coffee business. Since this is not just another business if the set of values __and expertise that have enabled the business now convert family passion
What is your secret for winning the competition?
Do a good handling of the plants (Nursery Garden, Cleaning, Nutrition of the Plants, etc.).
The secret and the conclusion is that we as a family passion, it is the excellence. It is the commitment to take care of the quality and safety of our coffee we produce Teamwork and good organization and location of talents, they have allowed the specialization of our capabilities
How do you feel to have been a winner?
Encourages us to continue on continuous improvement every day, every production cycle set ourselves new goals to achieve our vision and mission in time and we realize that we must commit more and fill us with more passion to achieve that first and compete with the best coffees in the world and put our country high.
What do you think about the Cup of Excellence?
Is space or event most important and prestigious we have in our country and the world, is where many producers will share the love and pride of being part of the network of special coffee, where we identify all and felt very happy because there organizations as Acen drives us, the Nicaragua n pride in our excellent quality coffee supply.
