NAME AND LOCATION OF THE FARM:
Farm Flor Silvestre is located in the community La Explosion, 14 km from the Municipality of San Fernando department of Nueva Segovia, 1 km from the border with Honduras is a new area in the cultivation of coffee, the farm is surrounded by an area of pine and sweetgum generated fresh air and the height is considerably higher mind that between 1400 and 1600 meters above sea level.
TELL US THE FARM HISTORY:
I have 17 years of been the owner of this farm, now count on 35 Manzanas of land with coffee, they harvested annually between 700 and 800 QQ of green coffee with 20 QQ per Manzanas. It started growing coffee Caturra and Catuaí, but as time goes on the farm predominates red and yellow Catuaí, the 35 Manzanas are productive with great effort they have been grown since 1998 to date.
This farm was bought in 1997 and began planting coffee in the following year in 1998 and as a very high and cold area began producing in 2003. It started with 3 Manzanas of Caturra coffee and has been spreading gradually. It began washing coffee in wooden troughs because over time we have been improved infrastructure to process coffee. We are 7 members of the family, my husband and 5 children all are working on the farm.
WHICH IS YOUR SECRET FOR WINNING THE COMPETITION?
From the year 2012 Virmax Nicaragua , we started working in the management of different coffee processing such as cutting, fermenting, washing, and transport immediately to shade drying yard. They have helped us improve our processes.
HOW DO YOU FEEL OF BEEN ONE OF THE WINNERS?
I feel very happy because I thought that if I have good growing conditions would not win a place.
IN WHAT YOU WILL BE INVESTING PROFIT TO BE OBTAINED FROM ELECTRONIC AUCTION?
In the purchase of an ecological wet mill to save water and pollute as little as possible. And in infrastructure to improve the welfare of workers and that after each task can rest well in their rooms.
HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE COMPETITION BEFORE? HAVE YOU WON PREVIOUSLY?
It is the first time I participate in the competition of the best coffee in Nicaragua and I am happy with the result and have been winning and this motivates me to continue to improve coffee quality.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE CUP OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM?
I think this event is very important because here we present producers dare this competition we have in coffee farms. Other producers are motivated to be good producers and good quality search dare have a good farm management.
