Overview
La Cumbre Farm meaning the High peak, is located next to the famous Los Pirineos Farm, in the top of the Tecapa Volcano. The farm is currently own and managed by Gilberto Baraona, a third generation Coffee Grower and Exporter.
This farm has ben in the family since 1890, and is special because is located at very high altitude 1446 meter above sea level, and is 100% Bourbón Elite variety. This variety is the original heirloom Bourbón coffee tress, that came to El Salvador , from the initially the Reunion Island and later to Puerto Rico.
In other countries is known as the French Mission Bourbón.
This Farm is being cultivated 100% Shade Grown, and will be reserved just to the conservation of this coffee heirloom variety.
The rich volcanic soil, and orientation, gives the farm outstanding conditions for growing coffee.
This coffee was, mill and sun dry in clay patios, at Los Pirineos Coffee Mill.
This coffee has been a best keep secret in the Asian specialty coffee markets and described as one of the top Bourbóns from El Salvador and a Ruby Gem.
