Marysabel Caballero is a dynamic and enterprising woman, owner of the Pantanal farm in the community of La Piedrona, Chinacla municipality in the department of La Paz in the southwest of Honduras . Marysabel born and raised in a coffee farm and very young are involved in the production of coffee by his father.
Tired of traditional coffee market, she saw COE an alternative for better prices and to move into the international market, won consecutively in the first three editions of COE, won second place in 2004 and 2005 and eighth in 2006.
The Pantanal farm is located at 1550 meters planted with the variety Catuai and shady trees as apple tree, cypress and sweetgum among other species. The farm is well managed and fertilized three times a year with conventional fertilizer and compost obtained from the decomposition of coffee pulp.
Forest and the environment lover is responsible for promoting the planting of trees to protect water sources and biodiversity of her farm and other farms in the community La Piedrona.
Marysabel is an ambassador of Honduras Coffee and an inspiration for more women who want to break into the coffee business. For her and her family, which for generations has cultivated coffee, this crop means a lot because it is the engine that drives his life and progress.
