La Edda S.A. Beneficio La Guaria (La Guaria Mill) and the entire crop produced, in this case in La Edda S.A., constitute a family company with a long coffee history. The goal in La Guaria mill is to always produce high quality coffee in harmony with nature. Mr. Braulio Moral Cervantes, pioneer in the costarican coffee culture, begun approximately in 1850 with a coffee based family business, and this was continued for five generations more. In 1994, the productive efforts where united in the family and a new mill was created taking again the original name of one of the first mills in the family: La Guaria. The quality in La Guaria coffee is guaranteed by rigorous mechanical and manual selections in our farm. The coffee production is made with moderate shade, which allows the crop to have a wider biodiversity in order to obtain a harvest of better characteristics. At the time of the harvest, 250 families move into La Guaria property where they are provided with housing, electricity and potable water during their permanency in this land. They also receive a fair and attractive wage that allows them to improve the quality of life of each one of these families.
