Overview
Montes de Oro is a family company. The Gamboa Chacon family has been growing coffee for over 30 years and recently started in the milling business. The Manager of the company, Emilio Gamboa, is an agronomist and next to his very experienced father, Melvin Gamboa, has been in charge of the whole process. With the Mill we have experienced a lot of different emotions, worries and a new passion for our product, but the most important thing is that the mill has bring us closer as a family working together for the same goal. They use an Integrated Pest Management program to only use the minimum amount of chemical products possible. The coffee is all shade grown with native plants that attract wildlife and they use live barriers to prevent soil erosion. One visit to the Montes de Oro micro-mill is enough to see how this familys passion and dedication to excellence is reflected in their coffees. The quality of our coffee is the joint effort of the producers, millers and people who commercialize this product, but without a doubt to be great and successful, is necessary to do what you love, which for us is the coffee business.
