CIANA History Located in the community of Uchumachi, Andes Uluris farm covers 10 hectares of richly forested land not far from the borders of the Bella Vista National Park. The cooperative CIANA includes 60 families with approximately 580 hectares of coffee. The coffee is cultivated between 1350 to 1700 meters above sea level. on mountain slopes of cloudy forests under shade near the Bella Vista National Park. The coffee grown is primarily Typica and caturra. Ripe coffee cherries are hand harvested between May and September. The coffee is de-pulped in a mechanical de-pulper, immediately alter the daily collection. The coffee is fermented for 16 hours and then washed with clean water. The coffee is sun-dried on drying tables.
