Cafe Jazmin HistoryFor Eduardo Tola, the quality of Bolivian coffee is very important. That is why he has worked in this field since 1985 and always followed the international competitions. He participated, along with a neighbor in Colonia Uchumachi, in 2005 and won ninth place. For this competition, he decided to participate because he wanted to know how good his coffee is. This year I decided to participate alone. I had good results. Even though I only won 29th place, Im proud that my coffee is good. He is interested in the competitions because he believes that through the Cup of Excellence the whole coffee sector will grow. Every Producer needs to know how good his coffee is, how well he is working. Its also good to promote coffee, so that Bolivian coffee gets better. If we dont participate in these events, we wont do anything for ourselves. We, the producers, have to promote coffee. Every sector of the province should participate. What he earns from the sale of his coffee he will invest in what he wants most desperately to send his oldest daughter, Arminda, to study medicine in the city of La Paz. She needs a lot of things and it will be a great satisfaction for Eduardo to buy her a computer for her studies in the university, as well as the expensive university textbooks. Eduardo says that he supports his daughter with one condition My daughter needs to study. She needs to be better than me. She needs to come back here. We need doctors here that know us and that speak our language, Aymara.
