Fredi Leonel Castellanos Hernández – El Espejo
Fredi Leonel Castellanos Hernández - the brother of Leonel planted a farm of 0.5 hectare in 1995, but access to the site is very difficult (1 hour walk to get there) and by the difficult climatic conditions the farm not produce, then his brother decided not to fight any more in the year 2000, and abandoned the project. Months later, Leonel suggested him that if he allowed him to work the to get it back in shape, his brother agreed and granted the estate; Leonel began working heavily, attended the estate and 2002 had already recovered the estate and from then until the 2010 he sold his coffee in the conventional market. The following year with the support of some fellow producers and exporter San Vicente he began to prepare the first specialty coffees. Leonel began to participate in 2015 in the cup of Excellence competition and gained year after year privileged spaces, such as this year in which he ranked in the 8th place. With what he receives for their coffee this year his aim is to support their children: one of them is studying high school in San Pedro Sula and the smallest (2 years) was born with a problem on her feet which is being treated by a physical therapists so that she can walk without problem.
