Miguel is a second generation coffee producer who has been producing specialty coffees for 10 years while leading an association, 5 years ago he, his father and brother joined the Colors of Nature project an exporter and research center for producers from different regions in Colombia through which he started to get trainings to improve his processing methods.
His motivation to work in the production of specialty projects was the opportunity to meet other professionals working on this field, the opportunity to benefit his community and the better prices he could get for the coffees.
One of the biggest challenges has been understanding the market for different varieties as there are some that are not being accepted in the specialty market. Today he grows pink bourbon, caturra, typica and plans to grow some more. This is the second time participating in Cup of Excellence getting for the first time the opportunity to be in an auction.
