About the
Farm: LOS PORTILLOS, located in El Cielito, Sta. Barbara, Sta. Barbara, Honduras . Principal products of this region are coffee, as well as vegetables, high altitude growing fruits such as prunes, strawberries, pears and apples. This farm is located in the specialty coffee producing zone of El Cielito, in the proximity of Mount El Maroncho, in the mountain range of Santa Barbara. The majority of the population has migrated from the departments of Lempira e Intibuca. This region has been characterized for growing excellent quality coffee. Included in the regular farm management practices, our farm has activities of technical assistance and management of coffee sub products. About his Family:
I began my farm with the support of my parents. My father is a coffee grower who won the first place in the COE in 2005.
What is the secret of your success?
In the first place the wisdom, that God has given me and the advice given by my father in my farm management. In second place the technical recommendations on how to prepare my coffee given by IHCAFE staff. How do you feel being a winner of the Cup of Excellence Honduras 2010?I feel I am contributing to my countrys image locally as well as internationally.
