Farm Agroforestal Chanjul was founded in 1925 in the province of Motozintla, Chiapas, south of the slopes of the biosphere reserve of the Tacaná Volcano. It has mountainous landscape, humid semi-warm climate and vegetation of tropical forest.
To continue with the tradition of maintaining a high relationship with nature, we have put in place many conservation practices, such as wastewater treatment plants, soil conservation. The farm is cultivated by Arabica coffee integrating the crop trees such as: guaba, walnut, mahogany, Spanish cedar, inga and medlar among others.
The Agroforestal Chanjul farm is maintained with an average annual temperature of 26 ° C with an annual rainfall of 2500mm, is at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,700 meters above sea level.
Agro-forestry Chanjul has an extension of 195 hectares of which 10% is forest area and primary buffering of rivers. The productive hectares are cultivated with improved varieties which are susceptible to diseases and with a high productivity thanks to nutrition management and special conditions of altitude, latitude and climate, Agroforestal Chanjul coffee has a fundamental attribute: the quality of the earth. The soils of the area are characterized by having a high content of organic material and good physical characteristics for a high production of quality coffee.
