Information: Las Penitas, is located in El Ocotillo, Santa Barbara. Here fruits such as plums, strawberries, wild pears and apples are grown in the same mountains were coffee grows. Nice, cool weather, located in a specialty coffee region of El Cielito, near Mount Maroncho, within the buffer zone of National Park of Santa Barbara Mountain. The majority of the population is originally from the regions of Lempira and Intibuca. This region has been characterized for growing excellent quality coffee. Included in the regular farm management practices, our farm has activities of technical assistance and management of coffee by-products.
About his family:
Jorge Arturo began growing coffee motivated by his father Natividad Benitez, who was the winner of the first place in Honduras COE 2005. His family now consists of his wife and his daughter.
What is the secret of your success?
Mainly the wisdom, that God has given me and the advice given by my father in my farm management. How do you feel being a winner of the Cup of Excellence Honduras 2010?Happy to contribute in showing off my countrys coffee quality internationally.
