Overview
Las Palmas farm is located 1550 m above sea level on the highest point of Tecapa Volcano, in the department of Usulutan, and above the coffee producing city of Berlin. This area is one of the best regions for growing coffee throughout the Eastern zone of El Salvador . The varieties of coffee planted in the farm are, Bourbón Elite, Pacamara , Pacas and very old Typicas. The farms, serves a water collector, and reproductive ground for parrots and Macaws, since it is adjacent to a virgin forest at the bottom of the volcano. The farm is owned by Gilberto and Francisco Baraona, and has been in the family for over 100 years. This exotic blend of Bourbóns Elites, and Pacamaras, were picked at the greatest point of maturity, and were immediately depulped and sun dry at Los Pirineos Coffee Mill. Traditionally the coffee from Las Palmas farm has been the best kept secret in coffee markets in Asia, where this coffee is sold in the most prestigious boutiques coffee shops.
