This is the first time Luis Gerardo participates in a contest, he has been coffee producer for more than 30 years and 14 years ago the aim to find better prices encouraged him to produce better coffee.
Today Luis and his family produce pink bourbon, Castillo and San Bernardo only washed processed. He explains that the innocuity in every phase of the process is key to get a great result. He hires only women for the pink bourbon harvest, this allows him to control ensure a better quality from the first stage of the post-harvesting process.
Although Luis didn’t know about the contest, he was lucky to have still some coffee remained in his farm which he presents at the very last minute to the exporter and ends up being in the top 3.
