Qima works directly with Yemeni growers and smallholder farmers across central and northern Yemen, creating equitable trade in cultivating and hand harvesting specialty coffee sourced from some of Yemen’s highest altitudes. As part of the multi-year partnership between Qima Coffee and the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE), the two organizations have come together again to launch the third and largest installment of the Private Collection Auction series in Yemen; The Best of Yemen 2021.

Due to the unparalleled success of the partnership over the last several years, the size and reach of the auction has grown to serve over 3,000 smallholder farmers in Qima Coffee’s network. With the aim of scaling and maximizing the impact of the program, this year’s auction will expand beyond Qima’s farmer network and will be open to participation from any and all coffee farmers of Yemen. As such, the Best of Yemen 2021 auction will act to provide market access for Yemen’s coffee farmers on a national scale.

By pinpointing exceptional producers with the Private Collection program, ACE will curate auctions with organizations and farmers who best exemplify ACE’s standards with its Cup of Excellence programming and hopes to expand its reach with these curated auctions.
