Farm La Picona is located in the hill of the same name, on the border between Honduras -and Nicaragua , at a height of 1300 mosl, is currently in a protected reserve of 8 Apples of land of forest with 3 water springs in the farm; it has visibility to the rest of the Municipality and especially towards the customs office of Las Manos
Tell us The Farm History:
This farm was purchased to Mr. Santana de Jesus Hernandez 10 years ago, the farm was abandoned and gradually we have managed to sow, first we worked 2 apple of land and counting so far with 6 of productive coffee, harvesting a quantity of 80 Quintals of green coffee in 2013-2014. The coffee varieties are planted on the farm Caturra and Maracaturra.
Family Generations:
My family is composed of 2 boys age 18 and 22 years old.
What is your secret for winning the competition?
Do a good handling of the plants (Nursery Garden, Cleaning, Nutrition of the Plants, etc.).
First faith in God. Besides good agricultural practices to work my farm, I make the effort with my employees and the coffee selection when cutting and pulping.
How do you feel to have been a winner?
I'm happy as this motivates me every day to continue producing better coffee. All this helps me to know that the proposed goals and achievements have been made.
What do you think about the Cup of Excellence?
I think this is a great thing because it is an encouragement to the producer and discloses the quality of coffee we produce each one of us as producers Dipilto and also allows us to help work.
