The Finca is a rustic farm surrounded by springs and is located in Teocelo municipality that belongs to the called “Coffee Golden Fringe” in Veracruz. For more than three years we dedicated to look for a natural space that allows us to implement environment preservation practices. We found this land after climbing the mountain for 25 minutes and we thought it was perfect for our purposes. The past owner was not interested in coffee production and has it abandoned for years. To our eyes it was a jewel but in coffee matters we were completely novices. I am biologist and I begun to learn everything related to coffee and this is how this activity became a passion. I got advice and begin to work since the basics with sustainable agro ecological practices (organic). We won for 5 years in different categories at the regional quality contest and received special mention for its acidity, exotic flavor and aroma. We also received acknowledge for our good agricultural practices. We are small producers, but we are conscious that the quality above any interest. We don’t sell our coffee at any store, it is sold to friends that recommend us, and they made this sustainable project possible.
Is a great motivation for us participating at Cup of Excellence. This is a signal that we are doing the things right and that we have to keep going and innovating. We have to be very brave also, because is not the easy path but is what our hearts dictate. This recognition means a lot.
