La Pira de Dota, and its farm Cocobolo are set at an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level, it used to be an organic farm, until 2006. This farm was named after his first owner Mr. Carlos Ureña, senior, who has been a coffee producer for more than 50 years.
After a few years the name of the farm changed as Mr. Ureña also was known as PIRO following the tradition of his father and grandfather Mr. Espiridion, a very common name at that time.
The farm is called “El Cocobolo” because of in this area are 10 cocobolos trees, very precious wood that nowadays in extinction.
