Sítio Mandembo is located in the city of Olímpio Noronha, in the south of Minas Gerais, in the Mantiqueira de Minas (Geographical Indication) region. Geographical Indication is a form of officially instituted protection given to a region known for having a certain product. It has the objective of demonstrating and guaranteeing that this product is part of the territory’s culture and that it is produced in a demarcated area and follows specific norms and rules established to protect the identity of this regional patrimony. The crops are located at elevations varying from 1100 to 1250 meters. There are 20 hectares of coffee distributed into plots of the Acaiá, Catuaí and Bourbón varieties. In addition to the elevation, the farm enjoys climate favorable to the production of coffee with well-de ned seasons and fertile soil.
Sítio Mandembo is administered by Carlos Alberto de Castro Pereira whose family has a history of over one hundred years of coffee production.
