Information: Martires Farm located in El Cielito, Sta. Barbara, were the main product grown is coffee, as well fruits and vegetables. This coffee growing zone has a temperature range of 12 to 21°C, and rainfall of 1,200 to 2,400mm/year. It is considered a zone for Special coffees. It is next to the National Park of Santa Barbara Mountain, PANAMOSAB. This region has been widely known for their participation in the cup of Excellence Event every year. During the seven competitions held, three were won to growers of this zone (Natividad Benitez, Bertilio Reyes Portillo and Amado Fernandez). This has motivated them to form a Special Coffee Association called Cielito Lindo. Martir began growing coffee with his father and family, but in 2006 he separates and he now has a little over 2 hectares of coffee land.
What is the secret of your success?
To manage my farm with proper techniques following experts recommendations and following through in the wet mill and drying processes. How do you feel being a winner of the Cup of Excellence Honduras 2010?Proud and happy to participate in such an event.
