The Sitio Cafezal, located approximately 7 kilometers (4.35 miles) from Carmo de Minas downtown, was acquired in 1996. In 1997, Mr. Jabes started the cultivation of coffee with the varieties: Catuai, Acaiá and Acaiá do Cerrado. Later on, in December 2005, the Yellow Bourbón variety was introduced.
The majority of employees lives on the propriety. During the harvest, temporary employees are usually hired.
Quality concern
Both qualities of the land and the weather and plantation altitude are determinant factors, along with handling care, for the good quality of the produced coffee.
