Cerro Azul is a new coffee project in Honduras . The owners has been growing coffee for 4 generations, His representative said “We have seen an industry go from a homogenous cash crop commodity to micro lot farming and we have enthusiastically taken a part and sometimes the lead in making these changes”. We have achieved great results proven by the steady increase in our quality and our success in the Cup of Excellence competition.
In 2011 we started the project of revitalizing Finca Cerro Azul in the region of the National Park Azul Meambar in Siguatepeque, Comayagua, Honduras , across El Cielito, Santa Barbara on the other side of Lake Yojoa, which has proven itself with great quality results. We are making a bet that since these areas share similar microclimates and conditions we will be able to achieve similar results.
We have divided the farm into many smaller 7 hectare plots in order to manage each plot individually according to its exclusive varietal. With our knowledge and experience of wet and dry milling we aim to take this abandoned farm to the next level and we will also be collaborating with neighboring farms that wish to implement changes we are bringing to Finca Cerro Azul.
We hope to share excellent results with you with this lot and in the coming years.
